6X6 SIDE PLATES ARMOR PLATE COMPATABILITY
If you already own a plate carrier, please check with the manufacturer to ensure that your plate carrier also accepts side armor. The Shellback SF Plate Carrier has built-in side armor plate pouches into the cummerbund. The Condor MOPC plate carrier, Shellback Banshee and Banshee 2.0, along with the Crye Precision JPC 1.0 and also 2.0 do not accept side armor on their own. Accordingly, we have three side armor plate pouches you can attach to your carrier. Firstly, the 0331 Tactical Side Armor Pouch. Secondly, the Condor Side Armor Pouch. Was on wait list for these 6×6 side plates and glad to be done with that! These plates look great, feel great, nice little cushion to them to knock edge off, nice contour to side when worn. These are being used in a 2009 IOTV empty without plates, which I believe are 6×8 for this size large vest, but these seem to work perfect just have to adjust pouch to get them positioned where needed. Makes the IOTV the perfect tank, and keeps ole salty dogs like me in shape on hikes with the hounds! So anyone out there with dated IOTVs who don’t give a rip about the weight of an IOTV then these seem to work perfect. The 6×8 or 6×6, really don’t care at this point, either size is better than most Americans have at this point, and better than not having side plates. Thanks RMA for getting them to my door in good time!! Thanks RMA for a KickAss product shining with quality! I unfortunately bought my front and rear plates a while back from another company, which are great plates but single curve and want to try multicurve. So all that being said any future body armor will be bought at RMA just because I can! Thanks RMA, and thanks to Customer Service at RMA for handling business professionally when calling about products, asking about deals, etc. And also cool acronym, until told I had no idea what RMA meant, so whoever it was that shared that information with me, cool story! 👍🏻🇺🇲

I chose RMA plates for a contingency set, after watching several videos in which plates that were tested showed minimal back-face deformation, when shot with the rounds that each plate was rated for. Combined with trauma pads, I’m confident that most soft-tissue damage or incapacitation resulting from a strike, would be well mitigated. For this specific price range, I could not find a better alternative, which has received the same amount of public testing, or which has produced the same back-face deformation results.

Overall purchasing and shipment was phenomenally fast. On the products, first thing’s first, side plates will always be more cumbersome, that’s just the reality of it. RMA plates however comes highly recommended; good curvature, slim construction and light weight and with minimal snag points or hot spots will ensure that you can wear them for an extended period of time without feeling any significant discomfort. Ultimately, the peace of mind of wearing RMA’s products will overshadow all discomfort, you will get used to the minimal extra weight very quickly.

Items are as described with fast shipping. Many fly by night companies do not do the heat, drop and water submersion testing per NIJ01.01.06 but claim “compliance” nearly all RMA products exceed these additional tests as well with certification.
