What Comes in an IFAK?

RMA Armament supplies personal IFAK kits that are 100% American Made. The T.O.R.K. IFAK as well as the Operator BLS IFAK contain all the components you need in a tactical IFAK: tourniquets, chest seals, combat gauze, hemostatic agents and more. These IFAKs contain MOLLE straps for attachment to plate carriers, tactical belts, leg rigs and much more.

Where Should I Put an IFAK on a Plate Carrier?

Normally, standard operating procedure of your agency or unit will dictate where to carry your IFAK. However, there are some general rules and guidelines if you need your IFAK for personal use.

If attaching to a plate carrier, you’ll want to attach it to your dominant hand side just above the waist so it’s easily accessible. It would also be prudent to attach it where your kidney is located so it doesn’t interfere with the ability to draw your weapon.

It’s also important to remember that your IFAK is for you. Just like in the military, if your buddy needs medical attention, use his IFAK contents on him, not your own.

If your job doesn’t require a plate carrier, it would be a good idea to carry your IFAK on a belt or a leg rig, so it’s close to your hands and easy to reach.

Mere seconds can be the difference between life and death, so making it accessible is of the utmost importance.
