The Crye JPC 1.0 is a lightweight and also minimal vest designed for maximum mobility, weight savings, and packability. At just over one pound for the entire carrier, the JPC™ offers a variety of configuration options to suit an operator’s needs in both load carriage and comfort. It features a Skeletal Cummerbund system with a patented integrated attachment system that allows pouches to be mounted on both the inside and outside of the cummerbund, shedding unnecessary weight and bulk while improving ventilation. I previously wrote a review on this kit which I gave one star due to the plate carrier and plates included in the kit originally sent to me were the wrong size and therefore were not compatible (medium plates with large carrier). Now that the situation has been resolved I wanted to write a new review for fairness and transparency sake. After reaching out to RMA they originally told me to try stuffing a t-shirt under the plate to make it work, which obviously did not. When I reached back out to try to get them to send me to correct size carrier for the plates, they informed me that very recently they had altered the plate design to no longer be a size up and that the system had not been updated when I placed the order and they apologized and immediately dispatched a medium carrier for me along with a prepaid label for me to send the large carrier back.
The medium size JPC fits the medium plates perfectly, snug and secure. The 1155 Gen 2 plates are impressively lightweight and the multi-curve makes the plates really hug your body with no pressure points when moving. This is far from my first JPC, but for those of you still debating carriers…the JPC is very low profile and doesn’t restrict movement at all. The skeletal cummerbund has two layers of molle so you can have pouches on the outside and inside of the cummerbund to free up real estate while running comms and such. The front plate bag has a sewn on triple mag flap with shock cord retention, which allows you to have 3 magazine right against the carrier flatter than any pouch can give you, so stacking ten-speed triple on top of that gives you 6 mags in the front with the same profile as most carriers with just 3 mags. The top of the front plate bag also has a velcro admin pouch built in which is great to hold multi-tool, small light, etc. The shoulders are extremely comfortable and low profile, making shouldering a rifle effortless. The adjustments of this carrier can fit almost any body type. I am 6’2 & 230lbs, 34″ waist and 54″ chest and the medium carrier fits me exactly how I like with plenty of room for adjustments in or out. As for ventilation, the JPC has mesh on the inside of the plate pouches for air flow, and the skeletal cummerbund obviously allows air to flow freely.
I own a Crye MBAV, JPC 2.0 and now another JPC 1.0 carrier (old one got destroyed along with an L210) along with others from Shellback, First Spear and Velocity Systems….the JPC 1.0 is by far my favorite, hence why I got another one. If I could only have one carrier it would be the JPC 1.0, hands down. The RMA plates compared to my far more expensive L4 plates from other companies are actually lighter and thinner. RMA also seems to do a better job with the multi-curve than the others. I will likely replace the plates in my other carriers with more RMA 1155s soon….these are the most comfortable plates I have ever ran. The Gen 2 1155s paired with a JPC 1.0 is absolutely the most comfortable armor I have ever worn. 10/10.
Stop shopping, this is the kit you want. Pick your color, hit shooters cut and checkout…you won’t regret it.

Ordered this kit to retire my current MBAV, hoping for something a bit more comfortable wearing all day, many people have recommended the JPC to me for that reason. Considering I ordered a KIT I assumed RMA would send the right size carrier for the plate size I selected (Medium Shooters Cut), however they sent me a large size carrier with medium plates. So needless to say the plates sag in the plate bags about 2 inches, as expected considering its the completely wrong size bag for the plates. I called RMA and left a message asking about this and got a return message advising me to “stuff a t-shirt under the plate” because according to them the Crye JPC 1.0 fits the plate one size down due to lack of stretch (although my large plates fit perfect in the large carrier they sent…the plate bags are elastic with plenty of stretch), which I laughed at because why would I have to do that to make a KIT they sell function? It should function as its sold…but I did attempt it, which resulted in a very uneven pressure point in the bottom of my back where there’s obviously a random objected in the plate bag….very poor advisement and I expected better from RMA after hearing so much about their products. I’m really hoping instead of insisting I stuff more random objects in the carrier they’ll overnight me the correct size carrier for the kit they sold me. I’ll try to call them again tomorrow and see if they’ll correct their error, but I’ve got a feeling I’m going to have to spend more money buying the correct size carrier that should’ve been sent in the first place, which is ridiculous considering I ordered a complete kit from such a reputable company I’ve heard so much greatness about.
So if you’re considering ordering this kit, go find the plates on here and then find the carrier by itself and buy the MATCHING size…(medium for medium, large for large, etc). RMA will send you the wrong size carrier.

This was the result of a recent sizing change to our plates that was not properly reflected on the product page at the time of your order. That’s on us, and we’ve already corrected this internally to prevent it from happening again.
As soon as you reached out, our team responded promptly with a prepaid return label and arranged to get the correct medium carrier sent out as soon as tracking showed movement.
For transparency, when the original carrier was returned to us, it did not include the instruction booklet that is normally packaged with the kit. Not a major issue, but worth noting for completeness.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Situations like this are exactly how we tighten up our systems and make sure future customers get a seamless experience.

Love the RMA plates, they feel lighter than steel but gits like a sapi. The JPC I’m not impressed with the cummerbund, but overall it’s better than the condor carrier. I have recommended rma to all my circle.
