What Comes in a Body Armor Kit?

All plate carriers with plates include two body armor plates and one plate carrier.

But you may need other accessories to complete your full armor kit as well. That’s why RMA provides access to a variety of other tactical gear. We also have ballistic helmets, bulletproof vests, med kits, tactical belts, mag pouches and much more.
Rest assured that these kits include everything you need to stay protected and are perfect for active shooter preparedness.

How To Set Up a Body Armor Kit

Setting up a plate carrier with plates is personal preference, much like choosing the right type of body armor for your needs. While the most popular type of body armor is Level 4 armor because it defeats the most rounds, that doesn’t mean it’s right for you.

The most important thing to consider is the type of round you want your armor to defeat. Think about the environment (urban or rural) where you work or live, the demographics of your community, etc. Those topics will help you determine the level of armor you need. Compare it to this ballistics chart, which will show you the specific level of body armor plates you need.

Next, you’ll want to determine the type of plate carrier to go with it. Some tactical plate carriers are designed for concealment, while others provide maximum support for heavier body armor plates. Some plate carriers are designed for easy on, easy off access, while others are more secure for all day wear.

Determine your needs, based on your task and purpose. Then find the gear that is right for you and you’ll end up with the best body armor kit for your individual purpose.
