RMA’s ultra lightweight Level 3 body armor plates (Model #1088) is NIJ .06 certified and specifically designed with the US Navy and Marine Corps in mind. Hence, a 10×12 single curve armor plate. In addition to weighing just three pounds, this level 3 armor is positively buoyant. Plus, it will defeat multiple 7.62X51 M80 NATO steel, 7.62x39MSC, and 5.56 M193, along with handgun munitions. However, Level III plates are not intended to defeat armor-piercing projectiles. Instead, we recommend our Level IV products for armor-piercing threats.

RMA’s lightweight Level 3 body armor plates are constructed out of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) and are designed and manufactured in the USA to exceed the Level III certification standards set forth by the National Institute of Justice.  If you’re someone who wears body armor for extended periods on the job, these lightweight armor plates are for you. Additionally, the buoyant construction means these plates float in water. Thus, they’re ideal for any maritime operations. Plus, their lightweight construction allows maximum protection with minimal weight during operations over rough terrain.
